Is AI trading safe?

AI trading is as safe as the setup around it, and no software removes market risk. The real dangers are losing money to the market, handing custody to the wrong company, giving software the power to withdraw, and trusting claims you cannot check. Here is where the risk really sits, six checks to run before you connect anything, and how AutoCoin, an AI trading bot for stocks and crypto, measures up against each one.

Where the risk is

Four places risk really lives

Market risk: no software removes it

Prices fall, and any strategy, human or automated, can lose money, sometimes for long stretches. An AI trading bot does not know the future. It follows rules, and rules sometimes lose. If a product implies it can take market risk away, treat that as your first warning sign. Only use money you can afford to put at risk.

Custody: who holds your money

After market risk, the biggest question is who has the money. If a platform asks you to deposit with it, you are trusting that company to give it back. If the software connects to an account you hold at your own broker or exchange, the company never has your funds to lose.

Permissions: can the software withdraw

When software connects to your account, its permissions decide what it can do. Trade-only access lets it place orders and nothing else. Access that includes withdrawals means a mistake, a hack or a bad actor could move your money out. Always check which permissions you are granting, and keep withdrawals off.

Claims: fake track records and promised returns

Flattering or invented track records are common in this industry. So are promises of fixed or certain returns, which no honest platform can make. Screenshots, win rates and backtests that nobody can audit prove very little. Ask how you could check a published result without trusting the company that published it.

Six checks

Checks one to four, and how AutoCoin measures up

Check 1: custody stays with your broker or exchange

Your money should sit in an account in your own name, never in the platform's hands. AutoCoin is non-custodial. It takes no deposits and holds no client funds at any time. Your assets stay at your own broker or exchange, so there is no AutoCoin balance for anyone to lose.

Check 2: trade-only permissions, withdrawals off

Software should be able to place orders within your limits and nothing else. AutoCoin connects with trade-only permissions, so it can trade but cannot withdraw or transfer funds. You create the access yourself, and you can revoke it instantly from your broker or exchange without asking us.

Check 3: a record you can verify without trusting the company

Look for results you can recompute yourself. AutoCoin signs each day's results, chains them to the previous day and anchors them on the Base blockchain. The verifier at autocoin.ai/live/verify recomputes it in your own browser, and you can point the on-chain check at your own RPC endpoint instead of ours.

Check 4: a registered company you can look up

You should be able to find out who you are dealing with. AutoCoin LLC is a Florida limited liability company, registered with the US Treasury's FinCEN as a Money Services Business, number 31000322777334. That registration is searchable in FinCEN's public database, which is the check to run rather than taking our word.

Six checks

Checks five and six, and what no check can do

Check 5: you control on and off, and the limits

You should decide what runs, with how much, and when it stops. With AutoCoin you choose the strategy, the capital and the on or off switch. It is self-directed software, not an investment adviser, not a broker-dealer and not a fund, and it makes no decisions outside the settings you switch on.

Check 6: no promises of returns

Any platform that promises you will make money is telling you something untrue. AutoCoin makes no such promise. Trading carries substantial risk and you can lose money, and strategies lose in stretches. The honest question is whether losses are survivable and whether the record can be checked.

Run the checks on every platform, including ours

These six checks work on any trading product, not just AutoCoin. Ask the same questions of every platform you consider, and be wary of any that cannot answer them plainly. We would rather you check us than trust us, which is why the registration and the record are public.

What no check can do

Passing all six checks makes a platform safer to connect, but it does not make it safe from the market. A bot can still lose money. Start with an amount you can afford, watch how a strategy behaves on a bad day, and add capital only after you have seen it work.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is AI trading safe?

It is as safe as the setup around it, and no AI removes market risk. Keep custody at your own broker or exchange, grant trade-only permissions with withdrawals off, and choose a platform whose results you can verify. Even then, a trading bot can lose money, so only use capital you can afford to put at risk.

Can an AI trading bot lose money?

Yes. An AI trading bot can lose money, and every strategy has losing stretches. No software knows the future, and any platform implying otherwise is selling something. What you can control is the size you put in, the limits you set and whether you can check the record.

Can AutoCoin withdraw my money?

No. AutoCoin connects with trade-only permissions, so the software can place orders inside your limits but cannot withdraw or transfer funds. Your money stays in your own account at your own broker or exchange, and you can revoke the access at any time from there.

How can I tell if a trading bot is legitimate?

Check four things: who holds your money, what permissions the software gets, whether the company is registered and can be looked up, and whether the results can be verified without trusting the company. AutoCoin LLC is a Florida company registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business, number 31000322777334, and its record is checkable at autocoin.ai/live/verify.

Is there a cost to try AutoCoin before I trust it?

AutoCoin offers a free 7-day trial, then $149/month, or the Founders Pass: $999 once for lifetime access, capped at 50 seats. Start small, run the six checks and read the record before you add capital. You can switch everything off whenever you like.
